I suspect their attitude is that as long as they keep the game's future availability vague, it will invite more people to shovel money into the KS out of fear they will never get it.
I have noticed (and personally experienced) a certain OCD occurs (and is fostered) when Kickstarter games are peddled. Most people are driven to buy EVERYTHING, therefore they toss lots of money into the project. Hey, I have done that. Promoters are well aware of it, and it is an integral part of the process.
But usually it is not a good deal - you might get a unique KS figure or two that really does not add much to the game, but the KS Game Projects imply that you really NEED it (in a subliminal fashion), and a pledger ends up paying what amounts to over 50 bucks for one plastic figure and a few cards.
True some KS exclusive deals are better than others, but all in all most simply are looking for a way to fill their coffers with as much money as possible with as little product as possible.
