This is an interesting question, although I can tell you that's it's never happened in my plays. It is possible that you could get to an inn first and not purchase a meal for a reason other than funds. You are only allowed to purchase one type of meal, so if you get there first with one coin and don't purchase a meal, it's not necessarily because they're all more than 1 coin cost, but perhaps because there are only meals you've already purchased that you can afford. This obviously wouldn't apply to the first inn, and it's not terribly likely in other inns, but it's a possibility I suppose. I'm not sure why it would be a problem to play it the way you describe, though.↧
