Thread: Tokaido:: Rules:: Sasayakko Rules Question

So my gaming group just got Tokaido and we were having a bit of a rules issue regarding how Sasayakko's special ability works. The first rule says she gets the cheapest of the souveneirs she buys for free. The second rule says she needs to have enough money to buy all the souveneirs - but does all refer to "all of the cards you are trying to buy whether it is two or three" or "all of the cards you drew even if you only want to buy two"?

I as playing it as I needed to have enough coins to pay for the ones I was electing to buy, but the cheapest was free, whether it was two or three. So by way of example, assuming I draw three items A which costs 3, B which costs 2, and C which costs 1, here us how I was playing it (by way of example):

-If I want to buy A and B, I need to have five coins but in actuality only pay 3.
-If I want to buy A, B, and C I need to have 6 coins but in actuality only pay 5.

The way it sounds like it could be interpreted because there is ambiguity related to the word "all" in the second phrase of the rules is:

-If I want to buy A and B I still need to have 6 coins (enough to pay for A, B, and C) but in actuality I still only pay 3 and receive items A and B.

Any help or input into how this works would be greatly appreciated.
