Considering the score, 3 player is pretty open for choices...both for the human and the AI...meaning that even though they aren't skipping spots, the AI players are taking more turns than with 4 players, and are more likely to find the next open spot as good as the ideal spot. Conversely, I played with 3 other human players at BGGCON, and just felt that the blocking was often quite brutal.I don't need convincing of your premise, however! I know there are plenty of tactical choices, with high levels of screwage, underneath the calming graphics of this game. For all those who think that never skipping spots is viable, your group is in a group-think non-confrontational mode. Play with some cutthroat humans to see how ugly this game can get. Sure, you might not lose by very many points, but you will still lose.
