It seems that each character total score have points over their personal and bonuses added, as if the app did aplied a sort of modifier/variant. No-one of the characters have and ability to score coins, but even then the coins shows 0 points in all cases. Even assuming x3 per thermal card don't fit. It's extrange in deed.
