A blog reader suggested the Limes for pros variants. I didn't even know that this official variant from the designer existed. And then Martyn, the designer, stepped in and point me to his website where even more variants exist! A big small game, I guess. I'll mark these variants on my to-try list of board gaming related stuff. Looks interesting, but I still haven't squeeze everything from the vanilla game.

Nuno's making a big order from Philibert and has asked if I want to pitch in. Always a good time to order games from the main shop in mainland Europe. With the current promotions and sales the shop as, I'm considering the following:

Flip City: Reuse: Because it's cheap and the main game has become a favorite of mine. For soloing and to play with Joel.

Tokaido: Crossroads: On my first Math Trade I got a hold of a copy of Tokaido. It came with every single expansion and promo ever released for the game. I thought it was cool until I checked the value of the Felicia Promo. Very high trade rating and the cheapest on geek market is 50€! More than the base game itself! It's crazy. So I'm going to complete my collection with this latest expansion, that's currently with 50% discount at Philibert. Eventually, I'll try to sell everything for a good profit. Fingers crossed...

Longhorn: It's been on my radar for a while. It's often mentioned has a predecessor (or a step towards) to Five Tribes, regarding the mechanics. Also, it plays fast. Maybe...

Glen More: After heavy consideration, I've decided to get this classic back in the collection. Hopefully, it will get more plays with family and gamenight groups.

I've always been interested in publisher's collections. And after all the recent due diligence on Glen More, I've stumbled on Alea's Medium Box family. Great titles there! San Juan, Louis XIV, Witch's Brew, La Isla, Alea Iacta Est, Saint Malo. Oh boy... more due diligence soon. Some of these might be a 45 minute grail game for me.

Ana came home from work sooner today, while Alice was still napping. Her text message: "I'll be home in 10 minutes. Choose a game!". Without really thinking too much about, I took Kingdom Builder from the shelf and set it up. We haven't played this one in a while and we might just make it until the end before Alice awakes.

This time we got the Fisherman and the Ambassador from the base, and the Shepherds from the expansion. We've played with Shepherds a lot now. It seems ever since we got the expansion from our 2016 Secret Santa, that this guy it's always there! Ana got 27 and I 36. Very low scores for the both of us, mostly due to the unfamiliarity of the new boards. We still don't know how to "work them" in our favor.

Alice still slept when we finished so Ubongo: Duel came next. I'm totally outmatched in this one. The die is rolled, and while I'm still searching for the pieces Ana has already finished her first puzzle! It's embarrassing... I didn't manage to score in our first game. On our second game, I put up more of a fight. Maybe because Alice had awoken by then and was sitting in Ana's lap during gameplay... She still won, 5-4. I'll suggest the handicap side of the board next time...

I've been eager to try Ginkgopolis since I brought it from LeiriaCon. While Ana put Alice to sleep at night, I read the rules and made a couple f rounds in solo mode, just to get the hang of it and teach Ana. But no luck. By the time Alice fell asleep, it was already too late for us. Better luck tomorrow.

See you soon
