Tokaido App Being Shown Off At Origins
I have a problem with Tokaido. Actually, it's not my problem, it's everyone I try to teach it to. I find that I quite enjoy Antoine Bauza's relaxing romp through the Japanese countryside, but everyone I've introduced it to has, at best, reacted with overwhelming indifference. Most of them downright hate it. What's the deal? I have no idea. Generally my group prefers heavier titles with a more economic bent, but this is the only euro that I was specifically asked to not bring back to game night. Even my kids revolted when we played it the first time. Lucky for me, there's an app for Tokaido that's been in the works since February of 2014 and it seems like, soon, I'll be able to get my Tokaido fix without having to bother another soul.
Since its announcement, news about the app has been scarce. In fact, the only other time we've talked about it in the past two years was when Funforge decided not to Kickstart the whole thing. Since then, radio silence.
An eagle-eyed reader (it was actually Brad, but I don't want him to get the credit) spied something interesting on Passport Game Studios' Facebook page: new Tokaido images and an announcement that it will be demoing at Origins.
That's all the news we have, but look at those screens! Pretty! Also, I bet you can't guess what booth Passport is in at Origins this year.

Coup Makes Its Way to Android
I love games that not just let me lie right to my friends' faces but encourage me to do so. Coup is one of my favorites. That said, when it was announced that Coup would be coming to digital, I was skeptical. What fun would it be to lie to my iPhone screen? Turns out I was off the mark, because the iOS version of Coup turned out to not suck, and actually be a good bit of fun.
Since it's arrival back in April of 2015, the digital version has only been spotted on iOS. That ended this week when Banana & Co. released the game for Android devices on Google Play.
Just like its iOS brethren, the app is free to download with a $3 IAP to remove ads. There is also a bunch of other IAP, but they're all cosmetic and don't affect the game itself. (Except for the IAP which lets you use the La Mame Games art. That content is absolutely necessary.)
