I'm not sure I agree with your assessment of 7 Wonders, but to each his own.
Indeed, to each his own. That is very important. What I might like, others might not. And sometimes, over time, you start to like things you couldn't stand before...

I don't get it, maybe it's a typo... You dislike 7 Wonders and like Tokaido, correct?
Correct. I was indeed referring to the games in the order I listed them, as fastlane pointed out.

From your description, using "tiles" instead of "cards"
Did I say "tiles" somewhere ?:ninja: There are no tiles in Tokaïdo. You acquire cards, like in 7 wonders. I never played Glen More though, so I can't compare these games.

I guess I've never felt like 7 Wonders was chaotic in any fashion.
Buy chaotic, I meant that in 7 Wonders you are so much focused on the cards you get, the resources and money you have to manage, etc. - Tokaïdo feels much calmer - try the game and you will understand what I mean and you might like or not like that "zen" flow of the game.

My group found the theme hilarious - you sit down in the restaurant and get told - sorry no food for you as you ate noodles last month and can only eat anything once shake
There are many examples like this in many other games I own - but I'll pass on this one. Maybe Antoine has a historic explanation of why Tokaïdo travellers could not eat twice the same dish.
