So what useful information did we obtain from the forecast, and how should we regard such forecasts in the future?
It told us this: as of 3-4 days before the end of the campaign, the forecast (most likely) accurately told us that $600k would not be reached. They made changes and it made an impact.
In other words, it is useful to know "all things being equal, where will we end up" and then adjustments can be made as appropriate.
